Dr Brizendine, "I drove him crazy!" the confession of a fan of THE FEMALE BRAIN

I cannot express enough how fascinated I was with your books. The summer of 2011 will forever be coined 'the summer of the female brain' according to my boyfriend. It was all I quoted to him the entire season. I drove him crazy, although I think he secretly enjoyed it as well. :)
Best,
Nicole

Men and women: Different brains, same aims

From the New Scientist 2012: The sexes may be more alike than we thought. A startling new theory says that some of the disparities between our brains may be there to make us act the same

SEVERAL years ago, the car I was driving was rear-ended by another at a stop sign. No one was hurt, but my passenger and I had to wait around to give a statement to the local police. Later on I asked my companion if he had noticed that the officer addressed most of the questions to him, even though…

All the Rage

"Nine years ago, after a lifetime of mood swings and temper tantrums, I found myself considering the possibility of steering my wheel hard to the right and hurtling off the Golden Gate Bridge. The thought was something more than idle, less than concrete, and though I managed to make it across safely, I was so shaken by the experience that I called a psychiatrist.". more...…

Are Latin men different? machismo?

Why are the Spanish far more tolerant of domestic violence than those of us in the United States? I am in Madrid giving a talk at the NEO-11 Conference and i have been interviewed by several journalists here today and this is the question they all ask me...why is the Spanish/Latin male more violent toward female partners than men elsewhere?

are emotions more important in assessing reality for women?

Everyone appears to need some emotional responsiveness to think both the world and themselves are real, but the following idea seems interesting to me to discuss.  I was reading a bit about delusions, and how in a severe form of delusion (capgras) a person might think that their spouse was replaced by an exact duplicate, or clone.  There is some evidence that females suffer from clinical delusions more frequently than males-and drawing on a type of methodology that suggests if Y has a problem A… Continue
