What do you think of the traditional convention of giving children the father's last name? In recent years, I've noticed more and more couples giving their children both parents' last names connected by a hyphen. While hyphenating is one great option, there seems to be few instances of children being given the mother's last name, while married or as a single parent. Any opinions on this?
In Dr. Brizendine's The Female Brain and The Male Brain, there are dedications in the beginning of both books to her husband and son. I noticed that Dr. Brizendine's son shares her same last name. Would love to hear the story behind this!
